Thriller video listed by Guinness World Records in 2006 as the "most successful music video", selling over 9 million items. This 13:43 running time music video released on Dec 2, 1983. Michael Jackson's Thriller was the most expensive video of its time, costing US$500,000.

The death of entertainment icons sends us to what makes us love their words, their films, especially their music, and other memories we can collect from the past. On Billboard, 10 of the top 15 albums were Michael Jackson's. He sold 800,000 copies last week, twice the figure of 422,000 the week before.

"Thriller" video music was re-edited to match the video, with the verses being sung one after the other followed by the ending rap from Vincent Price, then the main dance sequence (filmed at 3701 Union Pacific Avenue in East Los Angeles) to an instrumental loop. And finally, the final the choruses in a "big dance number" climactic scene. During the video, Jackson transforms into both a crank and a werecat accustomed area for Landis, who had directed An American Werewolf in London two years earlier.

Directed by John Landis and featuring makeup or special effects work from creature creator Rick Baker, Thriller video is nothing less than a full-blown short film set partially to Michael Jackson’s catchy song. It even ran alongside a screening of Disney’s Fantasia after its 1983 MTV premiere in order to qualify for Oscar contention. The magic speaks for itself. Thriller video continues to be regarded as the best music video of all time, and yet it is so much more than that.
